About the Ramazanoğulları Principality
The Ramazanoğulları Beyliği (Ramadanids), founded by Ramazan Bey in 1352, was a Türkmen principality based in Adana and located in Çukurova. For approximately 250 years (1352–1608), it played a significant role in shaping the political, military, and cultural landscape of the region. Initially subject to the Mamluk Sultanate, the principality was integrated into the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century with a status akin to "yurtluk-ocaklık," and later became part of the Ottoman administration as a sancak.
